A Paypal query

I have a Paypal account, and I am sure many of you have them as well. Have you received a request to update your Paypal account?  I have had a request saying that it needs to be changed urgently-- which then made me think is this a genuine request or not. When I tried to look at it further, it was so complicated, I have no idea what I am supposed to do. They recommend sending it to a technical support person-- which I do not have , and never had to use before. All in all, it makes me think that this is not a genuine email. I would appreciate feed back from anyone who has a Paypal account.

Thank you.
Cheers,
Yvonne

Sounds very suspicious to me Yvonne. They are so sneaky. I would delete it and report it to Paypal.

Hi Yvonne
whenever you get an email that purports to be from paypal, you can forward it to phishing@paypal.com.au & ask them if it's legitimate... we've done that a few times & saved ourselves some heartache

Dear Yvonne,
it is probably a phishing mail, you should not respond to it or open any attachments. They are trying to get information out of you like your name, accout number, date of birth or even worse passwords.
Greetings,
Sylvia

Thank you for all your replies-- everyone saying the same thing. I have sent the email to Paypal and deleted it too. Thank you for the great blogging community, who are there to help and answer questions in these situations. Have a lovely weekend. Cheers,
Yvonne

I forwarded my email to spoof@paypal.com as it looked suspicious. Scammers and hackers should all be stoned in the town square!

Yes, it seems to be one going around; I also get similar massages from banks, some of them I don't even have an account with! I ignore their links, of course, but if I have any concern, I go and log into my account in a normal way. If there were any issues, it would show up in my account.
Interestingly, if you just hover your cursor over the link they want you to follow (just don't click on it!), at the bottom left of your screen you should see the actual link you would follow if you would click on it (someone gave me the this tip once), and you will see that it has nothing to do with paypal or anything else they pretend to be.
